I provide the following:
Services
Individual Therapy
For children, teens, and adults who struggle with anxiety disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). For children, I involve parents in treatment to a large degree. Parents often participate in session with their children, although older teens may request more independent work. Work in between sessions is critical to improvement and all patients are expected to work on agreed upon tasks between sessions. Treatment approaches I use include Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (I-CBT).
Couples/Family/Relationship Therapy
Anxiety disorders and OCD frequently impact family, romantic, and other close relationships. I provide couples, family, and relationship therapy to help loved ones understand the disorder and to to decrease its impacts on close relationships.
Treatment for Parents and Family Members of Reluctant Individuals
Sometimes parents wish to learn to better interact with their child’s anxiety or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or perhaps a child or adult refuses treatment. I work with loved ones so they may learn more about anxiety and OCD, decrease its impact on their lives, and learn how to best approach their loved one who is suffering. I am also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-based treatment program for children who struggle with anxiety and OCD (to learn more about SPACE, please go HERE).
Consultation to Professionals, Presentations, and Workshops
I am available to consult with mental health professionals on cases involving OCD and anxiety. I occasionally offer small group consultations. I can also provide workshops and presentations to mental health professionals, school personnel, parents, and a variety of other groups. Please contact me to inquire about these.
